Summary of the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA): 

Provides quality rehabilitation care to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist as outlined in the plan of care in accordance with laws, regulations, and Facility guidelines. 

Qualifications

Job Requirements ofCertified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA): 

  • Current COTA(Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)License 
  • Current CPR 
  • At least one (1) experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of theCertified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA): 

  • Implement and execute established patient treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
  • Communicate with patience, families, referring physicians, and other members of the team.
  • Provide timely written documentation per facility and department requirements.
  • Develop and enhance clinical and professional skills through knowledge and professional association.
  • Provide timely written documentation as required.
  • Support and participate in department operations and development.
  • Report any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and submit patient charges accurately to access appropriate billing information.
  • Coordinate treatment goals with other team members.
